Types of NSPAA Memberships
Members have the option of joining under an Institutional Membership, an Individual Membership, or as an Associate.
Institutional/Individual: An individual or group of individuals whose dues are covered under a group by a Historically Black College or University actively engaged in or seeking to become involved in research and sponsored projects.
For Institutional Memberships, please complete and upload the Institutional Members List Form (https://tinyurl.com/NSPAA-Membership-List) when adding members to be covered under the selected institutional membership.
Associate: A non-voting affiliate that is an individual not directly employed at an HBCU but has an interest in sponsored programs administration.
Dues are for a twelve-month period. You may pay by credit card (including a processing fee) or check. NSPAA operates on a fixed membership year, which is effective July 1 and expires June 30.
What are the Benefits of NSPAA Membership?
NSPAA provides assistance and services to the membership, funding agencies and others by way of its Annual Conferences, Advance Workshop Series, Technical Help Seminars, Networking Opportunities and Publications. The Alliance frequently collaborated on opportunities available to HBCUs and other Minority Serving Institutions, The Departments of Defense, the Department of Energy and the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, among others. Often support training seminars, which help members earn professional certification as Certified Research Administrators through the Research Administrator Certification Council.

of pre-award and post-award functions and compliance. Post-award management for colleagues specializing in finance is also included.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE AND LEAD
Gain valuable insight on positioning your institution to win and realize maximum benefits and extramural funding from public and private sources.
NETWORK WITH NSPAA MEMBERS FROM OTHER HBCUS
Interact with federal agencies and private/nongovernmental entities to promote your program initiatives, and share lessons learned with faculty and staff of other institutions.
